Established in 2013, Healthcare Rescue Centre (HRC) is a Kenyan national NGO (private, non-political and non-profitable organization), striving to provide compassionate healthcare to needy communities mainly in rural and slum areas. HRC has been playing a key role in extending basic healthcare services to the poor people in rural and slum areas which imensely contributes to sustainable development. The organization’s interventions focus on key human livelihood areas such as water and sanitation; environmental protection; non-communicable diseases including cancer, diabetes and heart conditions; maternal and neonatal health; health education and promotion; eye care; ENT; surgery; malaria; HIV/AIDS and TB; leishmaniasis in arid areas; food and livelihood security, poverty alleviation strategies, support to victims of Gender Based Violence including female genital mutilation; orphans and vulnerable children care and support; among other programmes. HRC envisions equal access to quality healthcare as a basic human right. The organizationthus strives to realize thisvision through targeted project activities; free medical camps and community outreach events. All the medical camps providethe local communities, especially women and children, free medical care in collaboration with the county governments and local health facilities.Mainstreaming of gender, HIV/AIDS, equity, human rights and capacity building across all development activities has and will certainly and significantly continue to influence how HRC works. As a growing organization, HRC has also consistently renovated itself to respond to the changing needs of the communities' and demands of the internal and external environment by working in close collaboration with the national government,County Governments, health facilities, other NGOs, community based organizations, faith-based organizations, women and youth groups, public institutions such as Kisii University, and private institutions and companies such as Safaricom, Cocacola, Sidian Bankand KCB Bank, among other partners who include individuals to implement our programmes. HRC is managed by independent non-partisan local professionals whom have immense experience and technical know-how on various fields such as healthcare, community development, capacity building, finance, humanitarian interventions, human rights, child protection and much more.
